I am the proud Mom of two remarkable women, a marine biologist, and a performing artist. I love to travel in my spare time. I have visited 50 states in the US, and I am passionate about leaving the continent at least once a year. I serve SSBC as its Senior Director of Development. I've been in the salon industry since 1983. Over the years, I've worked in various roles, including stylist, manager, business owner, educator, and salon management consultant.
In July 1986, I was forced to attend a salon education class. I was a struggling stylist and employee, trying to make ends meet. Little did I know that day would change the trajectory of my life forever. I met Michael Cole in that class, and the rest is history. From that chance encounter, I began to realize that people can change and grow, given the right tools and opportunities. This idea has become the foundation of everything we do at Summit Salon Business Center (SSBC), and it has been my passion for almost 40 years in the beauty industry.
For five years, I was an educator and consultant with Michael Cole's Salon Development Corporation, and in 2002 I joined Summit Salon Business Center. In 2003, I was honored to be named the company's consultant of the year. I'm passionate about helping others succeed in the salon industry, and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to do so through my work at SSBC.
Today, I am primarily focused on teaching classes and ensuring consistency across all SSBC education. I am proud to be a part of such a kind and intelligent community. Whether we meet in person or virtually, I look forward to supporting and celebrating your successes.
I'm also a musician. I play drums and guitar, and I'm currently drumming for a Van Morrison Tribute band called The Belfast Cowboys in Minneapolis. I've been playing music for years, and it's always been a huge passion of mine.

I have been a part of the salon industry for many years and love it. But what I love even more than the industry is the people in it. Each person can shape their path and can have a significant impact on the clients they work with. It's not about growing sales; it's about growing people. If we can help people develop their self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem, we can make a difference in their lives.
Our salons have been a fixture in Summit since 2005; I'm proud to be a part of that. I may have been in this industry for a long time, but I never stop learning. I love hearing from others and sharing knowledge with them. Seeing people apply what they've learned to their lives is rewarding.
My "why" is simple: I want to make meaningful changes in people's lives. That's why I love teaching programs and sharing opportunities with others. It allows me to help many people simultaneously and provides hope for salon owners and their teams.
I stumbled into this industry by mistake. I was a sales rep calling on salons and didn't want the job, but I was broke and needed work. However, after ten years of working at Salon Resource Group with Peter Mahoney, I quickly fell in love with the industry and eventually became a shareholder.
I played the trumpet for ten years and refereed semi-pro hockey for eight years. These days, I love spending time with my family and enjoy golfing, traveling, and road biking.
Our salons have been a fixture in Summit since 2005; I'm proud to be a part of that. I may have been in this industry for a long time, but I never stop learning. I love hearing from others and sharing knowledge with them. Seeing people apply what they've learned to their lives is rewarding.
My "why" is simple: I want to make meaningful changes in people's lives. That's why I love teaching programs and sharing opportunities with others. It allows me to help many people simultaneously and provides hope for salon owners and their teams.
I stumbled into this industry by mistake. I was a sales rep calling on salons and didn't want the job, but I was broke and needed work. However, after ten years of working at Salon Resource Group with Peter Mahoney, I quickly fell in love with the industry and eventually became a shareholder.

While I love to travel and meet new people - my heart will always live in New England. I studied Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts, and was a Practical Visionaries Fellow at Tufts University. I have produced theatre in New York City and Seattle, led a community organizing nonprofit, and launched a publishing startup - though nothing compares to working in the beauty industry.

Living on a farm allows me to love all of the animals. Whenever I hear of a dog in need of rescuing, my heart just can't resist trying to help.
